A fashion show organised by London Fashion Kick

I recently attended the second edition of LFK (London Fashion Kick) fashion show at DoubleTree by Hilton hotel recently.

The event showcased some novel designers and their latest collections:

  • N’ella by Daniela Vitale
  • Swimwear by Parys
  • Shaleena Nowbuth Collection by Shaleena Nowbuth
  • Zsazsazsu by Martina Silllano
  • Chloe Simmons
  • Louise Ferdinand Lingerie by Sandra Palmer
  • 7Hills by Guada Dulce

The fashion show started at 12:30 and all the attendees were able to admire some cutting-edge collections. I was really fond of a swimwear collection by Parys.

At 13:00 we all went to the main meeting hall providing us with an opportunity to mingle with some stylists, journalists, bloggers and fashion designers. After some informal networking, with a glass of prosecco in hand, I made my way to the Italian Food Tasting experiences including some great canapes, pasta, etc. The pop-up shop opened up around 15:30 and the event closed at 19:30.

I hope to attend some more LFK events in the near future.

Qi Energy Treatment at Qi Wellness, London

Last week, I tried a Qi Energy treatment at the Qi Wellness Centre in central London.

Location:

Qi Wellness Centre is conveniently located just around a corner from the Oxford Street Tube Station in Margaret Street.

IMG_8192

Centre:

I decided to have an evening Qi Energy treatment so went to Qi Wellness feeling stressed and tired after a full day at work. As soon as I arrived, it felt like I’ve entered an oasis of calmness. The reception area looked very bright and I was welcomed by a friendly receptionist who asked me to fill in a short form describing myself and my current physical and mental condition. She then showed me around the centre and members relaxation area.

Treatment:

After a short wait (I arrived too early), I was taken to the treatment room.

IMG_8196

The treatment was conducted by an extremely welcoming Leigh-Anne and took around half an hour. It started with a short consultation where my therapist explained what Qi Energy is and told me about the treatment.

Leigh-Anne explained that Qi is the fundamental energy that creates and supports life. It is nature’s primary source of energy and what keeps everything in balance and harmony. When we have sufficient Qi, we have health and vitality; but if our Qi is deficient or blocked, stress and ill health may occur. The  treatment aims to release tension, stress and detoxifies the body. It also helps to promote the body’s own natural healing ability by reinforcing the flow of Qi.

After a short conversation, I was asked to lie on the bed and my Qi Energy treatment started. It was similar to acupressure I’d experienced previously. In treatment, physical pressure was applied by hand to different points on the body with the aim of clearing any blockages I might have. However the pressure was accompanied by hissing sounds from Leigh Anne.

I left feeling happy, relaxed and calm. It was great to have some time for myself and stop thinking about my work or upcoming wedding.

Overall:

I really enjoyed my Qi energy treatment and will definitely visit again soon to escape a hassle and bustle of my busy life.

IMG_8200

Qi Wellness also runs classes (Qi Energy & Chanting) and ancestor healing so if you are interested then check their website or blog for more information:

‘What A Melon’ launch party

I was invited to attend the launch party of the ‘What A Melon’ drink last week.

Location:

The day-party was held on a rooftop beach called Brixton Beach Boulevard by the Brixton Food market. The venue is conveniently located just off Popes Road in Brixton-just a few minutes’ walk from the tube station. The rooftop space has been transformed into a 1980s playground of music, street food, cocktails and sunshine!

Drink:

Watermelon water from What A Melon has mouth-watering taste of summer that’s packed full of rehydrating electrolytes. A delicious alternative to coconut water, it’s just the water from a watermelon with a fresh squeeze of lemon. It is 100% natural and doesn’t contain any added sugar, water, artificial ingredients or preservatives.

Party:

IMG_7905

A famous DJ-Groove Armada was playing while we were sipping some summer cocktails based on What A Melon water. It was a lot of fun, dancing and entertainment! There was also a photo-booth so we took a few crazy photos:

All guests could also enjoy some complimentary drinks. There were a few different cocktails to choose from:

  • Miami nice – Definitely my favorite cocktail as it was refreshing and sweet. It was made of vodka, what a melon water and a handful of mint on ice.
  • Melon-rita – a classic margarita with a gorgeous splash of what a melon water.
  • The G m’T – G & T with a splash of what a melon water and some cucumber.

Dress Code:

Dress Code was Watermelon Fresh so I decided to wear one of my summery Moschino dresses and paired it with a pair of colourful sandals from Kurt Geiger.

I hope you enjoyed reading this review!

Lovely afternoon Tea at Amba Hotel Marble Arch, London

As promised, please find another review of my Afternoon Tea experience listed below. Last week, I visited Amba Hotel Marble Arch in London.

IMG_8126

Venue and location:

Amba Hotel Marble Arch is located just off Oxford Street-a buzzy shopping district in central London. It is easily accessible by public transport and the nearest tube station-Marble Arch is around 3 minutes away. After a shopping trip with one of my friends (Sylwia) we decided to unwind during a relaxing afternoon tea.

Times:

Afternoon tea is served at the Grill restaurant, between 2pm and 5pm daily.

Service:

We were served by a few different staff members who were all professional and friendly. They all looked very chic and classy. One of the staff members-Kelvin made our experience extra special by being very attentive and welcoming. His customer service skills were simply excellent.

Atmosphere:

We reached Amba Hotel Marble Arch at around 2:15 p.m. The atmosphere and staff were both pleasant. On our arrival, we were acknowledged by a friendly receptionist who then asked one of the waitresses to take us to our table. There was a soft, relaxing music playing in the background which was enjoyable and soothing after our shopping trip.

The menu:

Our waitress took us to a table and asked us if we would like to start our Afternoon Tea experience with a glass of champagne. A few minutes later, we received a chilled glass of bubbly each and then we started considering what to pick from an excessive tea menu. We both decided to have a pot of green tea.

Our tea arrived in no time and was followed by a beautifully presented stand of the sweet and savoury treats. We started with a range of finger sandwiches including some salmon, egg and cucumber savoury bites. We then moved to a selection of delicious cakes, pastries and macaroons. Subsequently, we had a delightful, homemade scone each which was accompanied by some homemade strawberry preserve and some Devonshire clotted cream. All cakes were simply wonderful.

IMG_8142

Dress code:

The dress code at The Grill restaurant in Amba Hotel Marble Arch is smart casual. I decided to wear one of my colour block dresses with a pair of Kurt Geiger kitten hills.

IMG_8143

Overall experience:

What a great way to start our afternoon! The Grill restaurant at Amba Hotel Marble Arch offers a welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful surroundings. I would love to visit again try some lunch, dinner next.

You should definitely go there next time you are shopping on Oxford Street as it will help you to relax before you hit the shops again.

Summer ball at Porters Park Golf Club

Last week, I was invited by my fiancé’s father to attend a summer ball at Porters Park Golf Club. Porters Park Golf Club is located just outside the picturesque village of Radlett, in Hertfordshire.

The evening started with a champagne reception. Around 7:30 p.m. all guests were invited to take their seats in the beautifully decorated marquee. Once everyone was at their tables the speeches and awards begun. Luckily, they didn’t take too long and we were served a delicious 3-courses dinner. Subsequently, a great live entertainment from Déjà vu band begun. We all had the opportunity to show our best moves on the dance floor while enjoying the iconic songs from 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

Getting ready for a summer ball

I was invited to attend a summer ball at the Porters Park Golf Club last week. I wanted to look my best so I spent my afternoon preparing for that event.

Face:

I have recently bought a mineral-rich PRISTINE Beauty Dead Sea Mud Mask from Amazon.co.uk so it was a great opportunity to try it and check if it really works. According to the producer, the Pristine Dead Sea Mud Mask helps to:

• Purify the pores as a natural skin cleanse.

• Promote clearer skin and reduce the frequency of blemishes.

• Remove excess oil to combat shine.

• Minimise enlarged pores.

• Diminish the appearance of wrinkles.

• Address blackheads.

PRISTINE Beauty Dead Sea Mud Mask contains Vitamin E and is based only on natural and organic ingredients. Furthermore, it is a cruelty free vegan so it protects your complexion and the planet at the same time. I have a combination skin and enlarged pores so it seemed like a good idea to try it before the event as mask promised to deeply purify and provide anti-aging benefits.

The mask has a nice, creamy texture. I applied it for 15 minutes and then once it dried I rinsed it off with some warm water. My skin was soft, looked radiant and I could see some instant and noticeable results. The mask gave my skin a fresh, healthy glow and my pores were less noticeable. In addition, lines from under my eyes looked visibly smaller.

The only unfavourable feedback I could give was about its packaging. It looks very simple and unappealing but then again mask offers instant results and a great value for money. One pot of the mask (250ml) costs only £16.90 and it will definitely last you for a few months. I would recommend that you use it 2 to 3 times a week to see a long-term improvement.

You can get it from Amazon.co.uk: https://www.amazon.co.uk/PRISTINE-Dead-Sea-Mud-Mask/dp/B01FLUGRYG

Mask

Make-up:

I decided to wear my favourite ‘smoky eyes’ make up with some soft beige lipstick.

Hair:

I added a lot of volume and after decided to do some soft curls to get a soft look.

Holiday destinations: Split, Croatia

This week I would like to tell you about Split.

DSC03888

It is the second-largest city in Croatia, one of the oldest cities in the area and the largest city of the region of Dalmatia.

Split has an exceptional location. It is placed in between the coastal mountains and the turquoise waters of the Adriatic. It can be described as a lively city and as soon you step inside Diocletian’s Palace and you’ll see many restaurants and shops thriving amid the atmospheric old walls where Split life has been going on for thousands of years.

I love sightseeing and together with my fiancée we decided to climb the Bell Tower of St. Domnius. Honestly speaking, it was one of the scariest experiences ever as the stairs felt really unstable and wobbly… We were brave (or foolish) though and reached the top of the stairs to admire some stunning views from the top of the tower but I would never dare to do it again for safety reasons. Whoever is responsible for the maintenance work on these stairs needs to do a better job as I seriously feared for my live half-way through to the top!

After this frightening experience we needed to grab a drink and sat down in one of many local bars located in the Old Town. Subsequently, we continued our sightseeing around the walls of Diocletian’s Palace and admired this beautiful city whilst learning about its vibrant history.

I would definitely advise you all to go and visit Split if you ever travel to Croatia but then again probably climbing the stairs of the Bell Tower is not the best idea unless they are replaced.
