Our stay in VISIONAPARTMENTS in Zurich

We travelled to Zurich recently for a short, weekend break. We stayed in one of the luxurious apartments managed by VISIONAPARTMENTS. They offer over 1,800 tailored temporary living solutions in Berlin, Frankfurt, Lausanne, Warsaw, Vevey, Vienna, Zug and Zurich. The main clientele of VISIONAPARTMENTS are businessmen and young leisure travellers who collectively help to create a great atmosphere there.

Location:
VISIONAPARTMENTS Wolframplatz building is situated just a few metres away from the Giesshübel Train Station which can get you to the Zürich Main Train Station in a few minutes. It makes it a perfect location for whether you are there on business or – like us – travelling for a short city-break. The airport is only 40min away can be easily reached by public transport too.
You can also grab a bite to eat nearby, with the nearest restaurants located only a short walk away or go shopping at the Sihlcity Shopping Centre which is a 5min walk away from the apartments.

Apartment:
The concept of an aparthotel is one that offers most of the services of a hotel: rooms are regularly cleaned but rather than living in a room, you are spend your time in a fully-equipped apartment. VISIONAPARTMENTS units are available in a variety of layouts, styles and sizes and are competitively priced whether you are looking for a long- or short-term accommodation.

We stayed in a lovely, fully furnished Junior Duplex Apartment (No# WO010), split over 2 levels. On the ground floor, it featured a bathroom, living room area and a kitchen (with a small mini-fridge, microwave and dishwasher). A staircase lead us up to our spacious bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom.

The bedroom had a large, comfortable king size bed, flat screen TV and handy night stands. There was a selection of toiletries available in our master bathroom in addition to comfy robes and slippers.

After long days of sightseeing, I really enjoyed coming back to our apartment and relaxing on the large sofa watching some news before going to bed. As our apartment had a fully furnished kitchen – we prepared our breakfasts there, trying some locally produced goods.

Overall experience:
We stayed at the VISIONAPARTMENTS in Zurich for 2 nights and we really enjoyed it. The complex is super modern – you do not need to even check in/check out as you get an access code to your apartment on the day of your arrival. I was impressed with how spacious and stylish our apartment was. There is no restaurant onsite but if you do not mind preparing your own breakfast or having it at one of the nearby cafes then that shouldn’t be an issue. I would definitely recommend it to all travellers who like to stay in beautiful modern surroundings that offer an excellent price to quality ratio.

Birthday celebrations at The Woburn hotel

Someone wise once said that as you grow older, you learn to understand life a little better… I turned 34 a couple of weeks ago and as I love relaxing, being surrounded by nature and animals, we’ve decided to travel to the picturesque Georgian village of Woburn in Bedfordshire to celebrate it. We’ve stayed in ‘The Woburn Hotel’ – an award winning, 4 AA star hotel.

Location:

‘The Woburn Hotel’ is perfectly located in the heart of Woburn village, in the historic Woburn Abbey Estate that is home of the 15th Duke of Bedford. It can be easily reached from London (~1 hour), Milton Keynes (~20minutes) and in about 30 minutes from Luton Airport.
If being surrounded by nature and animals appeals to you then the hotel’s location should exceed your expectations as it a stone throw away from Woburn Safari Park and Woburn Abbey and Gardens. We visited all of these attractions on Saturday and I really enjoyed our drive through Woburn Safari Park which has over 1,000 wild animals roaming in 300 acres of beautiful parkland. Following from that we discovered an amazing deer park and visited Woburn Abbey which has been home to the Dukes of Bedford for nearly 400 years. In addition, if romantic walks around the gardens are of interest to you then you will be able to explore the 28 acres of award-winning, Humphry Repton inspired, Woburn Abbey Gardens.

Service:

As soon as we entered the hotel, we were welcomed by a very helpful and professional receptionist. He was really approachable and handed us our tickets to Woburn Safari park, which we were going to visit the day-after. He also provided us with some leaflets about the village. Once we checked in, we dropped our bags at our cottage, and we went straight to our afternoon tea. We found all hotel staff at reception and restaurant extremely attentive and friendly.

Rooms:

The Woburn Hotel offers its guests a selection of rooms to choose from in the main hotel ranging from double standard rooms to Abbey rooms to suites in addition to one of seven lovely cottages adjacent to the hotel to suit all budgets. All rooms have stylish décor providing you with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We stayed in a lovely, two storey cottage with a mezzanine floor called – ‘Wispers’ which was overlooking the hotel and its front garden. Each of the cottages have been designed to reflect their connection to the Russell family. The cottage we stayed in was named after an Estate in Sussex, which was purchased by the 11th Duke of Bedford for his wife, Mary back in 1927.

Our cottage featured a comfortable bed, luxury linen, safe, a TV and a telephone.

In addition, there were tea and coffee making facilities a selection of delicious complimentary chocolates, which were freshly prepared for us and waiting for us on our arrival.

6316A070-1AB4-490E-9406-8FEFFC5C5758

The cottage was perfect to celebrate my birthday and relaxing in after our adventures with its separate, large lounging area.

0D966D73-D9A1-4241-B1B6-082431D78C9E

Our en-suite bathroom had a classic décor. A selection of The White Company bath toiletries was also provided. In addition, some soft towels, slippers and soft bath gowns were available – perfect for lounging in before and after our sightseeing.

AFCAB7F4-CA3E-4A9C-AF5C-B05D21D2B78E

Facilities:

In addition to some charming rooms, hotel features the drawing room, The Tavistock bar, The Repton Room and 2 AA Rosette restaurant – Olivier’s.

The restaurant offers its dinners some of the best Bedfordshire cuisine. A Polish waiter, which assisted us – Mateusz made our stay extremely memorable by always being chatty and professional.

The hotel also has a lovely patio where its visitors can enjoy a drink or a snack.
Breakfast is offered in the main restaurant and provides a selection of made to order dishes.

Overall experience:

The Woburn hotel is perfectly located just steps away from Woburn Safari Park, Woburn Golf Club and estates. If you have a special occasion coming up, then the hotel offers a range of escapes to choose from. We loved the hotel’s charming accommodation, which being part of the Woburn Estate helped us to create lots of unforgettable moments in the English countryside. In addition, the service was faultless so I would recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to travel to travel to Woburn or surrounding areas.
I would love to stay in this hotel again one day!

Our stay at The Millstream hotel in Bosham, Chichester

hotel front

As some of you might know it was my husband’s 31st birthday 2 weeks ago. I’ve decided to take my Prince Charming for a weekend away to Chichester. We’ve stayed in a cosy, boutique hotel in Bosham and today I would like to share with you a summary of our stay in the Millstream Hotel.

If you enjoy history then you will be keen to learn that it boasts the Holy Trinity Church which is depicted in The Bayeux Tapestry, as it was from Bosham that Earl Harold, later King Harold who set sail on his ill-fated trip to Normandy in 1064.

If you enjoy romantic walks then the hotel’s location should meet your expectations as it offers picturesque views of a beautiful harbour combined with a tranquil charm of other traditional surroundings. Bosham is also only a short distance from Chichester and Goodwood, with easy access to Arundel Castle, West Dean Gardens and Portsmouth Historic Dockyards that are only 25minutes drive away. It is a perfect destination for any travellers all year-round, no matter whether you are going there to relax, shop or explore the surrounding areas.

Service:

The reception desk is open 24 hours. As soon as we entered the hotel, we were welcomed by extremely helpful Giulia. Once we checked in, she offered us some great advice on what we could do whilst in Bosham. We dropped our bags and decided to have a drink at the classy and inviting lounge. Once again, the service was helpful and professional. Same applied to the restaurant staff who made us feel welcomed and made our trip enjoyable.

Rooms:

The Millstream hotel offers its guests 35 rooms to suit their needs and budget – ranging from single bedded rooms to exclusive suites in the Waterside cottage. The restaurant is offers a warm atmosphere as you enjoy your dinner. A Hungarian waiter which assisted us – Zsolt made our stay extremely memorable by always being smiley and professional.

Bank Holiday stay at Fishmore Hall Hotel in Ludlow, UK

2 weeks ago, we decided to travel to Shropshire for an extended Bank Holiday weekend.  We left London during the early afternoon and after a few hours drive we arrived at Fishmore Hall hotel in Ludlow.

IMG_6248

Atmosphere:

Fishmore Hall has a very informal atmosphere and from the moment we stepped in to check-in until the moment we checked-out we felt welcomed. All the staff were friendly and professional.

IMG_6251

Location:

Fishmore Hall is situated in Shropshire, around a 3 hour drive from London on the outskirts of Ludlow. The town is well-known for its food festival, interesting shops and historic castle. It is a great holiday destination with many walking trails and sightseeing opportunities to meet the demands of even the most demanding travellers.

The beautiful view of Brown Clee Hill and Titterstone Clee Hill can be enjoyed from some of the hotel’s bedrooms or its garden. We spent a romantic afternoon overlooking the fields and rolling hills whilst having a few drinks in the hotels relaxation area located in its gardens.

Dining in an elegant atmosphere may be enjoyed in the restaurant at Fishmore Hall, with views across the beautiful countryside through the large French windows. Afternoon Tea upon arrival may be arranged.
Within close proximity to the hotel are activities ranging from golf to fishing and horse riding. Fishmore Hall is just 1 miles from Ludlow, famous for its food festival, restaurants, shops and historic castle.

Facilities:

Fishmore Hall Hotel has been awarded 3 red star status by the AA. Red Star hotels represent the most outstanding examples in each star category and signify the best in the British Isles.

Forelles Fine Dinning restaurant offers classically based modern British cuisine and welcomes both residents and non-residents who can choose from 2 A La Carte Menus. We decided to have our dinners in there and we weren’t disappointed – both menus were delicious. For guests looking for a more relaxed dining experience, light meals and snacks are available in the elegant setting of the Brasserie. In addition, guests can enjoy a Classic Afternoon Tea which was recommended as one of the best afternoon teas in Shropshire.

All visitors can also relax at the guest lounge with and have a drink at the bar which offers a nice selection of drinks and cocktails.

IMG_5902

If, like me, you enjoy having a moment to yourself and a bit of pampering then you will love that the Fishmore Hall Hotel has a luxurious spa – SPA SHELL- overlooking the Shropshire hills.

The SPA SHELL features a sauna, steam room, and an outdoor whirlpool. A range of prestigious Elemis treatments and massages are available.

IMG_5966

I decided to have Elemis Garden of England Rose Massage whilst my husband had a classic Full Body Massage. We both really enjoyed the spa facilities and our massages.

Room:

Fishmore Hall Hotel is a privately-owned boutique hotel that offers a plenty of rooms to choose from. We stayed in the Executive room (no. 5) which was deeply comfortable, elegant and sexy.

It had a flat screen TV and a very comfortable king-size bed. In addition, there was a desk, table and chairs, and a complimentary Wi-Fi. Our mini bar was stocked up with some local goodies and some complimentary milk and water were given.

Our bathroom was spacious and walk in shower as well as a separate bath. Some soft towels, bath robes and slippers were provided. The bathroom was equipped with a selection of exclusive Elemis toiletries.

Overall experience:

Bank Holiday stay at the Talland Bay Hotel in Cornwall

Last weekend, I was with my husband in Cornwall for an extended Bank Holiday weekend. We decided to stay at the Talland Bay Hotel based on the corner of South East Cornwall.

IMG_3957

Atmosphere:

The Talland Bay Hotel has a very informal atmosphere. All members of staff were extremely friendly and made us feel welcomed as soon as we checked-in. The hotel is also dog-friendly and hotel’s décor features paintings and sculptures of cats and dogs which made me believe that the owners of this retreat must love animals. What’s more, we discovered that you can even dine with your dog in the conservatory brasserie.

IMG_3529

The hotel offers bed and board for pets which includes a cosy blanket, feeding mat and bowl and even a complimentary doggie treat. Simply amazing for anyone travelling with their four-leg companion 🙂

Location:

The Talland Bay Hotel has a perfect cliff-top setting at Porthallow between Looe and Polperro and is just yards from the South West Coast Path and Talland Bay beach. Great to go to for a picnic or a bit of sunbathing.

Facilities:

The Talland Bay Hotel has received a bundle of awards including taking Silver in the ‘Small Hotel of the Year’ category at the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2016/17 and Gold in the Taste of the West Awards. In addition, it also has a great restaurant onsite which is headed by chef Nick Hawke. It was recently awarded four Stars and two Rosettes from The AA. I am a massive foodie and I decided to have a couple of dinners in there and I wasn’t disappointed -everything we chose from the menu was delicious.

All visitors can relax at the guest lounge with an extensive mix of furnishings and beautiful art or have a drink at the bar. It offers a wide choice of drinks including Cornish Pilsner that my husband loved, a range of gins and a selection of cocktails.

I am a massive fan of any outdoor green spaces and the hotel grounds have a lot of beautiful features. There are lots of interesting sculptures decorating the grounds, in addition to footpaths and sunny terraces overlooking the coast path and the sea.

Room:

This small, privately-owned luxurious, boutique hotel has only 20-rooms. We stayed in a sea view suite (no. 1) which was simply stunning.

IMG_3506

I loved its white, modern décor combined with some timeless seaside theme inspired accessories.

The interior of each of the bedrooms and reception is diverse and individually designed.

IMG_3485

Our bedroom had a flat screen TV, massive and very comfortable king-size bed, coffee table and a couple of couches to relax on after a day of sightseeing. We also had a small make-up desk and a massive mirror to help anyone to get ready.

IMG_3491

What I liked the most was the view… It was simply breath-taking! After we arrived at the hotel I sat at the window frame and just admired how stunning it was.

Our bathroom was spacious and it had a simple white décor. Some soft towels, bath robes and White Company toiletries were also provided.

Overall experience:

We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Talland Bay Hotel. I travel a lot and it was one of the coziest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The room was beautiful, the views were breathtaking and the service was faultless so I would recommended it to anyone who travels to Cornwall.

Our stay at Palacio Ca Sa Galesa in Palma De Mallorca

As some of you remember my honeymoon is planned for December and I will be going for the trip of my lifetime to Asia in less than 3 weeks from today. Together with my husband, we decided to go for a couple of mini-moons before so this week I would like to tell you about the hotel we selected for our second mini-moon.

Have you ever dreamt about staying in a Palace or castle? I think that they are extremely romantic and as a grown up Princess I decided that it would be perfect to stay at the 5* boutique hotel – Palacio Ca Sa Galesa with my Prince Charming.

Location:

Hotel Palacio Ca Sa Galesa is situated in the historic Old Town center of Palma de Mallorca. It has an ideal location and its roof terrace provides any guests with some great Cathedral views. Palacio Ca SA Galesa is a perfect destination for any luxury seeking travelers all year-round, no matter whether you are going to Palma for a mini-break, shopping or for business. This 5 star boutique hotel is set in a 16th-century building in Palma’s Gothic Quarter. It opened as a hotel slightly over 20 years ago, introducing the idea of city-centre, exclusive hotels based within historic buildings.

Service:

The reception desk is open 24 hours. As soon as we entered the hotel, we were welcomed by extremely helpful and smiley Azucena. While she was checking us in, she offered for us to sit down in a small area and offered us some champagne or juice. She was very friendly, smiley and professional. As we arrived way to early, we dropped our bags and went shopping. When we arrived back, our room was ready and we were taken for a tour around the hotel.

Rooms:

Palacio Ca Sa Galesa has only 12 rooms (7 suites and 5 doubles) that are unique and named after a famous musician. We stayed at the Junior Suite named after Brahms.

mini-suite

When we arrived we had a bottle of chamapgne waiting for us in our room which was a great personal touch that made our experience even more special.

img_5531

Our room was spacious, bright and stylish. It was perfectly equipped with Air Conditioning and central heating which could be individually regulated from the room and bathroom, flat-screen TV with satellite channels, minibar, hospitality tray with coffee and tea making facilities and safe. The room was equipped with the best equipment available:

  • Multimedia station;

Our king-size bed was extremely comfortable and after a day of sightseeing we fell asleep almost immediately. For our additional sleeping comfort we were provided with a pillow menu to help us select our preferable pillow and relax even more…

Our bathroom had a classic décor and a private in-bathtub jacuzzi and shower. There was a selection of natural bath toiletries and salts available to choose from.

In addition hotel Palacio Ca Sa Galesa has the spa which includes a heated indoor pool, sauna and Roman baths, as well as a hot tub and gym.

You can also pre-book some beauty treatments such as facials or massages at the additional charge.

Another place which you should definitely check if you decide to stay at Palacio Ca Sa Galesa is the terrace.

It was definitely my husband’s favourite place in the hotel. We spent a quite a few romantic hours on the terrace looking out on Mallorca Cathedral and Palma Bay while sipping the champagne and having some small bites to eat.

It was a perfect place to watch a sun-set from.

Overall experience:

Palacio Ca Sa Galesa represents the charm which fusions the past and present of Palma. There are places which let you escape time, letting you live through unforgetable moments where the best pleasure is to choose and enjoy your favorite things. Palacio Ca Sa Galesa is definitely one of these places and we both really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful and luxurious boutique hotel. It was definitely one of the most unique hotels I have ever stayed in. The location was perfect and service was faultless so I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to travel to Palma. I would love to stay in this magnificent hotel again one day!
